Our classrooms are thoughtfully planned learning environments that invite children to explore and engage in the world around them. The sunlit rooms allow children to build, create, play, read, work, problem-solve, challenge themselves, and grow with endless possibilities.
Our preschool program is designed to ensure a seamless transition from a home environment to preparation for a thriving school career. Our preschool classes accommodate children ages 18 months to 5 years-old. Our two age groups are put together to ensure the proper development in all areas of early childhood development.

Why Mixed Age Classrooms?
At Preschool of the Arts, we employ mixed age classrooms. This allows children to grow and explore independently. There is a home-like closeness and intimacy associated with family life that is appropriate for young children. The ability for the children to remain with the same teachers for several years in our preschool classes enables children, parents, and their teachers to form strong and stable relationships with each other as they might if they were with extended families and small communities.
Because each child progresses at his or her own speed, there is no competition. Everyone is learning at his or her own level. Children are capable of interacting with different ages because they may be operating in overlapping learning levels. The curriculum is more differentiated and teachers in multi-aged classes see their children as diverse rather than similar.
Mixed age classrooms
resemble family life
All children experience being the youngest, the middle, and the oldest. As they age, children gain confidence and leadership skills that are not readily available in same aged classrooms.
Mixed age classrooms
strengthen community
Stronger parent-teacher-child relationships form.
Mixed age classrooms
sharpen social-emotional skills
Empathy, acceptance, and the ability to nurture are supported within the classroom. Studies show that children who are socially competent perform better academically.
The cornerstone of our school is our arts program.
Children derive much joy and pleasure by being involved in arts. Blended effectively into our daily routine, children are exposed to an array of art media, including acrylic, watercolor, and finger painting, crayons, chalks, markers, and pastels. Children also work with clay, and other sensory media, as well as natural materials brought in from nature.
